innogy uses SEEBURGER BIS 6 for digitization of business processes

The digitization of the energy industry provides us with more actionable data than ever before. Accessing the data and leveraging the power of it is key to providing innovative products to customers. As part of the modernization of its business processes and IT landscape, innogy SE chose to rely on SEEBURGER’s Business Integration Suite and its versatile integration solutions.

SEEBURGER AG has been supporting RWE and now innogy since 2001 in the process of implementing new electronic business processes and regulations with their business partners – i.e. electricity and gas suppliers, meter operators and distribution and transmission system operators.

Taking a next step to implement their digital strategy innogy, with its distribution network operator Westnetz and subsidiary Mitnetz strive to add more value for their customers and partners. Using the latest release of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite makes EDI communication with new business partners easier and simplifies their onboarding. The SEEBURGER Suite provides users with interfaces and masks that contain all necessary information to stay compliant with current communication standards. In case of a specifications change, SEEBURGER will promptly provide all necessary software updates as a part of the software maintenance agreement.

The SEEBURGER BIS handles the secure exchange of standardized EDIFACT messages in market communications according to the specifications of the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), internal applications are coupled with modern web service interfaces (EAI) and the highest possible system availability in IT operation ensured as a cost-effective application cluster.

SEEBURGER’s BIS also enables the secure transfer of electronic messages in compliance with the latest regulations issued by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). In being compliant to these, innogy pays close attention to data security and uses the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite to manage the technical communication as well as to monitor the electronically supported business processes for compliance.
